Pop Hit Recidivists - 4
![]() |
It's not unusual for a pop tune to be a hit more than once for different recording artists. In fact, it used to be common. The #1 song of 1946, for instance, was 'To Each His Own', the first hit in his multi-Oscar career by my fellow Pittsburgher Jay Livingston and his partner Ray Stone, and was a hit by SEVEN different artists. Today, occasionally there'll be a hit by someone that is a simple 'remake' of a previously charted hit. In fact, in the 50s, that was sometimes planned and called a 'cover' version. Singers like Linda Rondstadt and Bette Midler have made a very good living out of such recycling. In this quiz, I will give you the names of at least THREE artists who had Top 40 hits (and by now, I might stretch this rule a little, perhaps using the Adult Contemporary Chart, or a recording that had significant radio airplay, but peaked below #40) with the same tune. You have to come up with the title they have in common. Think derivatively, now...

The Detroit Lions could score more points than my percentage. Still, this is a Lion of a quiz to take pride in.
