With World War II in the rear view mirror, the return to normalcy and prosperity was reflected in the world of fifties TV. Homes were near perfect, mothers never worked, and the underlying happiness of the families surfaced to quickly erase those minor irritations or stumbles that took place in TV's 30 minute window. And as the decade closed, of course, we also began to return to those heroes of Western lore to remind us of our national destiny.
Enjoy, and I hope you had your ginseng and gingko today!
