A person's definition of the term "one hit wonder" can vary. Some people say an artist with only one Top 40 hit can be called a one hit wonder. Others would argue that one record in the Top 100 should be a one hit wonder. But when I recently took a quiz calling The Bangles a one hit wonder, I had to scratch my head. A group with two #1 hits and two #2 hits should not be classified as a "one hit wonder." (Same goes for my old friend Leo Sayer who someone else called a one hit wonder). I feel my definition is the most accurate - an artist with one #1 hit single and then never charted on the Top 100 again. Just disappeared. Poof. Gone. Didn't say goodbye - nuthin'. So there you go - can you guess the artist of these legitimate one hit wonders, songs that reached #1 and then the artist was never heard from again. Let's do it.
