Songs Made More Popular By Non Original Artists
![]() |
I sometimes get a chuckle out of my 14 yr old when he becomes quite disturbed to find that this classic new song he's digging turns out to be a cover of a song which is 30 years old. Why is it teenagers seem to think they're the ones who discovered sex and great music? Anyway I digress. The following songs were made more popular by artists who recorded them after the original. I will give you the song, the year it was recorded originally, and the artist who made it a standard if you can give me the original recording artist. It won't necessarily be the person/s who wrote it. And if I recall correctly, I think I may have mentioned to my father that I discovered sex in 1971. I have a sneaking suspicion he may have been chuckling behind my back as well....

Good one...love a challenge!
I figured the Isley brothers was wrong, but if so, then every
program that ever talks about the Beatles is wrong. They
always talk about the Beatles recording the old Isley Bros.
