|While working for the YMCA training school in Springfield, Massachusetts, Dr. James Naismith nailed a peach basket up on a wall and voila....Basketball was invented in 1892. The first intercollegiate basketball game was played on February 9 (my Birthday!), 1895, between Hamline College and the Minnesota School of Agriculture. On Jan. 18, 1896, in Iowa City, Iowa, the first college basketball game was played with the "five man per team" format. The University of Chicago defeated the University of Iowa 15-12. |
By the early 20th century conferences began to form, and in 1906, the Intercollegiate Athletic Association of the U. S. (IAAUS) was formed. It determined the rules of eligibility for college athletics, and four years later, they changed their name to become the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Here now, counting backwards, are the 10 NCAA Men's Basketball teams that have won the most games in NCAA history.
Good Luck on the quiz and please rate it afterward if you have the time.
