Collectively, the Appalachian Mountains are a long "chain" of linked smaller ranges that run from eastern Newfoundland in Canada to Georgia in the southern U.S. Formed 480 million years ago, they once reached heights similar to the Rockies and Alps, but erosion over the millions of years has reduced them to their current heights. This quiz will offer questions about some of the different links in the chain that make up the Appalachian Mountain Range.
