The Beatles Songs That Topped All Three Charts

legendskiLegendski on 01/19/2010

Trivia Quiz It can be a struggle at times to come up with new ideas for a quiz as every Sploofus author knows. And it sometimes can be a hit and miss affair if you're trying something a little different.Having said that, I am now about to thrust this little sadistic chestnut your way.

The following Beatles songs all reached #1 on the singles charts in U.S., U.K. and Australia. I will give you the B-Side, where the song was ranked in the Rolling Stone magazine's 2004 edition of the Greatest Songs of all time and the amount of weeks spent at #1 in the three countries mentioned. All you have to do is supply the song.

There are some double A sides here that I have referred to as B-Sides for the sake of conformity .There were only 11 Beatles songs that reached the top spot in all three countries between 1963 - 1970. A little surprising I would have thought. But as I always drum into my captives as I shove bamboo shoots under their fingernails- you will be driven to distraction trying to figure out the musical tastes of the record buying masses. I need a fix 'cause I'm going down....

Some of these are misleading as UK b-sides differed from US.

Superb quiz! I loved it!
I added up the number of weeks for all 3 charts for "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and it comes out to be 19 weeks, not 17. This was a great quiz! I thoroughly enjoyed it!
