Welcome to the December Challenge Quizzes -- a game for quiz takers and makers. In this puzzle the term "holiday" will be used in the British sense; that is, what Americans usually call a vacation. Over the years my wife and I have gone "on holiday" to some memorable spots in Europe, Canada, and the US, often exchanging homes with other families.
