The Cubists

eddiego65Eddiego65 on 12/24/2007

TheCubists Photo Cubism was a twentieth century art movement that revolutionized European painting and sculpture, and influenced related movements in other art fields such as music and literature. It developed out of Primitive Art, Fauvism and some artist's attempts to replace impressionism with a less aesthetic and more intellectual approach to form and color. In Cubist works, objects are broken up, analyzed, and re-assembled in an abstracted form in an effort to express them by the superimposition of several different perspectives/angles of them into one picture. Cubism eventually opened the way to abstract art.

In this quiz, I feature ten painters associated with the movement.

Can you identify these great artists?

Hope you see lots of shapes! Have fun!
