Welcome to the 5th edition of the Community Quiz Challenge...Awards/Award Winners. Quiz authors taking part in this game created "Award" quizzes. All of them appear in the 'Community Quizzes' category. No one knows what the others will come up with, so it is a game for both authors and quiz takers. You are encouraged to take all of the quizzes in this group, compare them, rate them and send comments to the authors. My contribution to the Awards quiz focuses on the Macarthur Foundation, one of the most prestigious fellowships around, which bears the names of its founders, John and Catherine T. MacArthur. It provides 5-year, $500,000 stipends to creative individuals to do whatever they want -- regardless of their field of endeavor. Some famous MacArthur fellows of the past include the subjects of this quiz, all of whom are well enough known in their own field before receiving the award that you stand a chance of guessing or identifying them from the biographies I will provide.
