World War I, also known as the “War to End All Wars”, lasted from 1914 to 1918. The death of the Austrian heir apparent Franz Ferdinand set off a chain reaction which culminated in the war. Though the causes are still debated, one thing is certain. The war would change our world forever. The world’s first “total war” involved 32 nations and the loss of 30 million men. Unfortunately, the economic, political, and social results would leave a void which would lead to the rise of dictators. From there, we would then be hurled into the precipice of another devastating war. This particular quiz deals with the causes of the conflict. Eventually, I plan on creating further quizzes dealing with other aspects of the war.
