Otis Redding was a DYNAMO on the soul scene, influencing so many of his contemporary artists such as The Rolling Stones that we can only imagine what heights his career would have reached had he not been taken from us so soon. He was a consumate stage performer, a prolific songwriter and a shrewd businessman/investor, being among the few African-Americans of his era to own his own recording label and music publishing companies. His legend lives on and young people today hear Otis in movie soundtracks and songs covered by several of today's artists. See what you remember about this powerhouse of a man!
