Along with his songwriting partner, the brilliant Burt Bacharach, Hal David wrote the lyrics to most of their complex, beautiful collaborations. David had a career of his own after their breakup (a little Ronnie Milsap hit called "It Was Almost Like A Song" comes to mind). Since I can't play you the amazing melodies or pieces of the dozens of hit records they had, you have to identify the songs just from Hal David's distinctive lyrics.
