It was actually John Hurt, not William, who played the Elephant Man in 1980, so (I hate to say it) my answer should be wrong.
I enjoyed the quiz however there is an error in question 4.
re: the rain man question--the reason he is called rain man is because when his brother charlie was little HE couldn't say Raymond and rain man was what little Charlie called him
