The Top Artists of each decade from the rock era - the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s on the Billboard Singles Charts...United States Billboard charts, so there will be no surprises. And just so we can squeeze out 10 questions, I'll ask you to name the the Top Artist of each decade, followed by the runner-up, second place artist of the decade. These rankings were established by Joel Whitburn using a special point based system where points are given for weeks at #1, weeks at #2, weeks on the charts, etc, etc; giving a pretty accurate ranking equal to sales and radio play. I don't think anyone will quibble over the answers.
