There's Snow Business Like Snow Business

The snow here in New York has just melted away, but news reports today are warning of more snow flurries coming in many different parts of the country. Indeed, winter is still alive and well. I thought it might be of interest to reflect on all those businesses that revolve around snow. I just went skiing this past weekend too, for my birthday, and that prompted me to wonder about all the headaches and concerns that running a ski resort must entail.

It was a cold winter day, and snowing heavily to the point that visibility was almost zero when the ditz got off work and made her way out to her car. She warmed up her engine while thinking about her situation and wondering how she was ever going to make it home.
Finally, she remembered her daddy's advice, that if she got caught in a blizzard, she should wait for a snow plow to come by and follow it. That way, she would not get stuck in a snow drift or drive into a ditch or something.
So she waited patiently, and sure enough, in a little while a snow plow went by, and she started to follow it. The ditz felt very proud of herself for remembering the advice, as she was not having any trouble driving in the blizzard, even though the snow blew heavily around her little car.
She drove along slowly for quite some time, then the snow plow stopped and the driver got out, walked back to her car and signaled for her to roll down her window. "Are you all right, miss?" asked the snow plow driver. "You've been following me around for almost two hours."
The ditz responded that she was fine, and related her daddy's advice to follow a snow plow when caught in a blizzard.
"Well, that's okay with me, I guess," said the driver. "You can follow along if you want. But I'm done with the Wal-Mart parking lot and headin' over to K-mart now."
