Tom Swifties – yet again
![]() |
A Tom Swifty is a quote with an adverb, that makes a pun. There are two sorts of Tom Swifties. The first involves Tom saying something (when the pun is just in the adverb – maybe he says something about sand ‘grittily’). The other involves the pun being part of the name plus the adverb – like a comment about bric-a-brac said by Ann Teakly. To get round the FITB restrictions you may have to recast the sentence in your mind; they will all finish with the name and then the adverb. Try this set; follow the clues, and have fun!
