The Tudor Rose was created by Henry VII as a way to signal the ending of the Wars of the Roses. It is the Red Rose of Lancaster combined with the White Rose of the House of York. Henry VII, a descendant of the house of Lancaster, created it when he married Elizabeth Woodward who was sister to Edward IV, a king from the house of York.
