Al Bundy IS the proverbial common, unknown man...the man who goes to work at a thankless job for a thankless family in a thankless world. Other TV fathers have a cake walk compared to him. They don't know the meaning of living in downtrodden, strife-ridden H*ll. He is over his head in debt and frequently survives awesome tragedies such as falling off the roof head first. The fact he manages to get up every morning, go to work, and come home every night makes him a great American hero.
