Don't let the title mislead you. This is not a quiz about latin verb endings or innovative machinery! This is a quiz about the endings of plays and movies, wherein some outside force appears at the last minute to resolve the hero's problem or save the day! Some of these examples are from ancient dramas, others are from popular movies, so be ready for anything! WARNING: Spoilers abound! BTW and FYI: Deus ex Machina (from bartleby.com): "NOUN: 1. In Greek and Roman drama, a god lowered by stage machinery to resolve a plot or extricate the protagonist from a difficult situation. 2. An unexpected, artificial, or improbable character, device, or event introduced suddenly in a work of fiction or drama to resolve a situation or untangle a plot. 3. A person or event that provides a sudden and unexpected solution to a difficulty."
