It is my belief that everyone needs a hobby to suck off all that excess money of theirs. From about age 10 to maybe 25 or so, one of my such activities (along with collecting initially baseball cards and subsequently recorded music) was coin-operated amusements. First there was pinball, but in the fall of 1978, a new technology, which until then had been mainly an occasional novelty, muscled pinball aside. We will look back at ten of the classic early video games, some of which revolutionized the amusement industry, and some of which just sucked in a bunch of my time and money. And, if you do well enough, you'll even earn a bonus question!
