|Background-Europe, following the end of World War I, witnessed the overthrow of several governments. Germany was one of those countries which experienced the abdication of Kaiser Wilhelm II, who then fled to the Netherlands in November 1918. A new government consisting of the Social Democratic Party took control. This new government, fearing a communist revolution, proclaimed a republic without obtaining official consent from the other parties. This issue was one of the several problems faced by the new government. |
The quiz asks for information on the primary events, people, and characteristics of this German government prior to the rise of Adolf Hitler. Within the quiz, when faced with German words, I opted for the use of “ue” instead of the umlauted “u” and “ae” in lieu of the umlauted “a”. As always, good luck!
