Those who live outside the Deep South tend to think that those of us who do are less intelligent. Maybe it's the twangy accent or maybe it's not. Hollywood has caricatured Southern Americans in one of several ways. Well-to-do Southern women are "delicate flowers" sipping mint juleps in a rocking chair on the front porch. The others wear tight denim shorts, smoke while pregnant, talk like a sailor, and live in a run-down trailer park. Men tend to be tobacco-spewing, bib overalls-wearing, ignorant bigots. Sure, there are exceptions on TV and in the movies, and for that we Southerners are grateful. But too many stereotypes exhibited in films and television are negative ones. In this quiz, you'll need to know some characters from the Land of Cotton based on my description. Not all questions will be simple, and not all questions will require a simple identification of the character name. If you've taken my other quizzes, you'll recognize the "mix it up" style.
