What's in a President's Name?

flcyclistFlcyclist on 07/12/2008

WhatsinaPresidentsName Photo If you investigate, there are many similarities among the names of our U.S. Presidents – and also many singularities. For instance, did you notice that if you reverse the last two letters of Richard Nixon's last name, you get a double negative? (nix + no) I will list some facts and you get to choose the correct answer. Have fun and thanks for taking my quiz.

it would be nice if you had listed all the president's that fit the answer (with the exception of the 19 for #2)

This quiz was challenging, but there are some problems. Question #20 has 2 choices for John and William, one of which I chose but was marked wrong. You also might consider putting explanations in the correct answer for something like this. #16 What seven Presidents had their names legally changed? I know of Ford, Clinton and Grant. #12 What Presidents had VP's under someone else? #14 What are the six common words - I came up with pierce, grant, ford, bush, & bush ( if you're thinking Taylor, then the spelling is different)

#14 There are actually 10.
Bush (2 if you count both of them), Carter, Ford, Johnson (isn't that the slang name for a penis?), Hoover (now allowed without a capital for vacuuming the carpet), Grant, Pierce, Polk (to dance the polka), Tyler (a maker of tiles), Madison (and is that part of a bike race?).
Reference is the word-find program Zyzzva, used in Scrabble, and practically the last word on the subject. Actually, it is the last entry in some dictionaries, as the plural form does not have its own entry.
