I don't have to tell you fans of Jane Smiley that she has written 11 novels, including a Pulitzer Prize winner. Or that she turns to other writers' novels for sustenance, wisdom, and inspiration. Or that she has been a contributor to many magazines, including The New Yorker, Elle, and Playboy. She said, "I think a lot of things are hilariously funny, and that's kind of the way I live my life.
