The English language has totally changed since Shakespeare wrote his plays. For this reason most of us have trouble reading what he wrote unless the text is accompanied by explanatory notes. I have chosen ten expressions from his plays. Can you match these expressions with their meanings in contemporary English ? I have tried to choose picturesque expressions of varying difficulties.
