"Star Spangled Banner"

Do you go to the ball game and mumble when they start with the streaming rockets? Fill in the blanks to the poem by Francis Scott Key, written on September 14, 1814 in the waters of Fort McHenry in Baltimore Harbor. It is sung to a wine and love song, "To Anachreon in Heaven" by John Stafford Smith. Supposedly, the original tune's words were inspired by a 6th century Greek poet. The Army and Navy adopted the words and music and in 1931 in an official act of Congress the song became the National Anthem of the United States. A lot of people would prefer Ray Charles' version of "America the Beautiful."
