World War II and all that

|It behoves we senior Sploofers to remind you callow youngsters occasionally of the blood, sweat and tears what we then youngsters went through to allow you lot the freedoms of Sploofing away forever (Sorry, I don't have a symbol for 'tongue in cheek!). :-))|
But, prompted by a recent reunion, it did remind me that we slightly more maturish (in face, if not mind!) players did have a rather different upbringing than those who were born with a colour TV in their mouths.
So here's a bit of selfish reminiscing of a not untypical British youngster's experiences for those who started life (mumble) years ago.
Sorry, but it is from the Brit point of view, 'cos it was a bit difficult to travel to the USA in the early 40s!
And they're MY memories, so xxxxxxx any complaints about the lack of Nebraska embroidery pattern questions.
So, totally useless knowledge for anyone else, but memories enough for me to be rather glad that I made it to 2006 (so far) and met up with you luverly lot!
Enjoy, if that's the word!
(And if your kids play up 'cos they can't have the latest computer game, get them to take this quiz too!).
