To better understand the modern world, we must examine the situations created for us by the world leaders who took part in the conferences which occurred during World War II. The different points of view of the American, British, Chinese, and Soviet leaders resulted in the creation of a world based upon broken promises and “spheres of influence”. By the time of Yalta, the stage was already set for the beginning of the Cold War.
