One of the first books I read as a little girl was Dr. Seuss's "Horton Hatches the Egg." As I grew, I read that and other Dr. Seuss stories to my younger brothers and sisters, and as an adult, I read it to my children. Someday, I hope to read it to my grandchildren -- and great-grandchildren. I love Horton. He's big and strong, but kind and gentle. He teaches us the meaning of friendship, loyalty, and faithfulness. He's a classic!
