Cheating Policy

Sploofus has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for cheating - because you are actually cheating your fellow Sploofusers, not the system. Thousands of us come here every day to enjoy a community of honest, intelligent players - as well as trivia games that entertain and educate. There is simply no room for players that elect to be dishonest and cheat.

The bottom line is that if you cheat, you will eventually get caught, and your account(s) will be terminated without notice or refund.

Each night, our servers run an intelligent "discovery script" that seeks to identify players with more than one account, as well as players that share information to gain an unfair advantage over other Sploofusers. This script utilizes a number of advanced technologies. It analyzes server access logs, IP addresses, cookies, scoring trends, login trends, login times, statistical digressions, and other data using a dynamic algorithm that flags accounts with suspicious activity.

Additionally, thousands of Sploofusers are encouraged to "report" suspected cheaters by opening a Support Ticket, at which time accounts can be manually investigated to proactively keep the integrity of our games intact. This is only done to maintain a fair playing field for all Sploofusers.

Repeat offenders of the Sploofus Terms of Use will have their IP addresses banned from the Sploofus network, as well as having such information shared with other trivia web sites and gaming properties. Repeated abuse of the system by ficticiously creating multiple accounts can be construed as network abuse and will result in an abuse notification being sent to the ISP and IP block owner of the malicious IP address.

What are some examples of cheating?
- Sharing WordPuzzle phrases with other Sploofusers
- Having more than one Sploofus account for yourself
- Accessing another players account
- Taking quizzes while having previous knowledge of the answers
- Sharing the TQOTD with other players
- etc.
Can more than one person have a Sploofus account on the same computer?

Absolutely! Let the whole family play from the same computer! Let the college crowd play from a shared computer! Let a community play from a shared library computer! Just PLEASE - do not have more than one account for yourself, or share WordPuzzle information or other Sploofus answers with you friends and family. That would be cheating. Let's keep things fair, legitimate, and most of all - FUN!

Thank you for your understanding.
